Mild breeze of change

By Greg, January 13, 2010 8:57 pm

Hiya all, I said it was gonna happen and I just went right out there and did it. There’s time for me to play around and get things up and running, but you know what? It’s fun for things to be warped for a while. OK, OK, truth is I’m lazy and I want to catch up on an episode of Lost. So some things will work, some won’t. Comments are now working – yay! But the widgets in my sidebar ain’t happening on the home page for some reason… But screw it. Whatever… it looks much better than it used to – already!

So bear with me over the next week or so while I tweak and fix things up. Weeks may turn into months, however, so if you find something’s up, point it out to me.

Anyway, let’s take a look at things, and the year to come.

win7 Just before the arrival of my darling little daughter, Windows 7 Release Candidate was unleashed upon the Internet. I have been interested in taking the plunge for some time, as I had heard great things from the beta, so I decided to do it – hell, it won’t expire till this time next year, and I can upgrade to 64-bit Windows at the same time. Simple decision, really. But was it worth it?

Google Earth becomes much more; fish move to space as there’s more room

Space Fishy

You may or may not have heard, but Google Earth is now in version 5 (Beta). As a bit of a Google Earth fan, having spent many an hour perusing here and there, I thought I’d check out the update — and it’s pretty good! If it’s been a while, go back and check things out!

I don’t work for Google, and I don’t get paid to tell you about what’s new — so I won’t go into any great detail. Suffice it to say I never knew you could look into space on Google Earth (it may be a new addition, I’m not sure), but now you can also check out the ocean in a little more detail, and… Mars!
