In my late teens, I was heartily into comics – Spawn and Savage Dragon in particular. As I got older, I started to believe the hype – comics weren’t for cool kids – and I lost interest, to my discredit.
Years went by.
Now older and wiser, I realise the error of my ways. I realise that — screw it — I like comics, and damn it if I’m going to let anybody else friggin’ stop me. So I’m getting back into the swing of things, and I’m looking into the comics I want to start reading on a regular basis… And I was pleased by one new discovery… The Walking Dead.
Have you played Resident Evil 5 (バイオハザード5 [Biohazard 5] in Japanese) yet? I expect a lot of men would say “yes”, but what about women? Probably not, because lots of women are afraid of zombies and horror themes, like me. Clive Barker’s books are not generally well-known for their blisteringly awesome movie translations. Hellraiser is the best known (and well loved by myself I need to add) — a reasonably good adaptation of the novella “The Hellbound Heart”. A little slow by today’s standards, but perhaps this is reflects poorly on the quality of modern-day horror movies, rather than reflecting poorly on Hellraiser itself?
