Clive Barker’s books are not generally well-known for their blisteringly awesome movie translations. Hellraiser is the best known (and well loved by myself I need to add) — a reasonably good adaptation of the novella “The Hellbound Heart”. A little slow by today’s standards, but perhaps this is reflects poorly on the quality of modern-day horror movies, rather than reflecting poorly on Hellraiser itself?
