Pregnancy. For men.

baby You just found out that your partner is pregnant, and the world is spinning around your head. Your first child is coming. Everything is about to change. Your partner is about to experience 9 months of exciting changes. But enough about that — what should you expect while the other half is pregnant?

Well, first things first. I recently became a new dad, and life certainly does change. But the previous 9 months were certainly and wholeheartedly different. Not hugely, but different. So I thought I write up a quick guide on what to expect during this time — and what might be expected of you.

Hi all, and sorry we haven’t been around for a while to tend to the frog. There is a good reason for this, and we named her Mika. It might take a couple of days for me to get back in to the swing of things, and it might take Mihoko somewhat longer, but rest assured – the frog is still kickin’.

So this is what birth is like? Hmph, I’d imagined something a little more..sterile. Children sit-up before crawling, walk before running and get pissed on half a can of low-strength beer before moving on to the harder stuff, like World of Warcr..I mean Pineapple Daiquiris.  At the other end of the scale, one is thrust into the Blogging spotlight confused and blinking, and expected to deliver with furious typing fingers content of  tangible worth. Be it as it may, I think I’ll practice sitting up first, see how I do. The loving tendrils of the Frog are sure to support my fragile body. Yes, frogs have tendrils. But I digress. I’m here, I’ll get better I promise but bear with me while I run a few diagnostics, stoke the ol’ boilers and mix a few metaphors.

I’d welcome you to FeD but I’m new here myself, let me unpack my stuff and then I’ll show you round.
