Music goodness – but don’t take my word for it

By Greg, March 25, 2010 8:49 pm

Music means a lot to a lot of people. In fact, there are very few people in this world that aren’t moved by music, or have little to no interest in it. However, in recent years, many of today’s youth have held music very close to their hearts, so much so that many of them thinking they are the be-all and end-all of musical taste.

But I digress… this isn’t a post rambling about how I’m sick of other people trying to force their preferences upon me or how I’m equally sick of the same people making themselves out to be the biggest music fans in the world – like no-one else likes music. Nope – this post is not about any of these things. It’s about a video game. A video game called Chime.

VidZone impressions – needs work, but damn it’s good [UPDATED]

Why is karaoke so popular in Japan?

By Greg, June 22, 2009 7:52 pm

karaokeroom Karaoke. Just mentioning the word can strike fear into the hearts of many. And why? Well, mainly because most of us can’t sing for the life of us, and we would hate to embarrass ourselves…

Especially in front of a bunch of strangers… Which leads many (in western countries at least) to wonder — why the hell is karaoke so popular in Japan?

Music made me think and hurt my brain

By Greg, April 10, 2009 4:28 pm

Nine Inch Nails Heard an interesting comment on the radio recently that made me think — and this is a fairly uncommon experience for me. So I decided to write about it. And what was so interesting that it would prompt me to pop it on the frog? Well, it was about music, and it made me think about why we like the things we like.
