To-fu hamburger steak recipe
As you probably already know, tofu is a very healthy(low calorie, high textured vegetable protein, high lecithin content, which is good for your brain), and very typical Japanese food (also Chinese?), so lots of Japanese people mix tofu into hamburger mince to reduce the calorie count and improve nutritious value. In fact, it’s pretty common nowadays because tofu is an inexpensive and common food in Japan — 1 pack of tofu averages 1~2 dollars, and it’s available from any food store.
Since tofu is much cheaper than meat in Japan, mixing tofu into hamburger mince also is good for your pocket. Here in Melbourne, however, tofu costs nearly the same as meat, so you won’t be saving any money with this recipe, but you can still make a healthier meal, with more portions that can go towards entertaining, or lunch meat during thee week.
This recipe uses meat and tofu fifty-fifty, so it still has a very strong meat taste — you can’t really taste the tofu at all. Adding the tofu just makes the hamburger steak fluffy and juicy. You might not like this recipe if you’re a really big fan of solid hamburger steaks… like a meaty rock…
But still you can try it!
Here is the recipe. Continue reading 'To-fu hamburger steak recipe'»
Women should play Resident Evil 5 with their boyfriend/husband (partner?)
Have you played Resident Evil 5 (バイオハザード5 [Biohazard 5] in Japanese) yet? I expect a lot of men would say “yes”, but what about women? Probably not, because lots of women are afraid of zombies and horror themes, like me. Of course, I can’t play the game by myself, because it’s too scary for me, but I do want to say, I really do enjoy the game… Continue reading 'Women should play Resident Evil 5 with their boyfriend/husband (partner?)'»
Rock Band VS Guitar Hero World Tour [UPDATED: Now with added... poll...]
Both “Rock Band” and “Guitar Hero World Tour” have been available for a while now (especially in the US), so perhaps lots of people have already tried them. However, consider the situation in some countries, where the games have only been available for about 6 months.
This made me wonder if there were any people still thinking “should I get both, or just one of them?” I thought it would be a good time to offer my opinion, because we recently bought “Rock Band” after having played only”Guitar Hero World Tour” since its release in Australia. Anyone for Sorbet?
It’s now the middle of the summer in the Southern Hemisphere — and bloody hell,… 46 degrees (C) in Melbourne!!
I can never eat enough ice cream! But wait — almost all of the ice cream from the supermarket is pretty high calorie, and contains lots of food additives — better not eat too much then! So I tried to make homemade sherbet… It’s much healthier and it’s so fresh and tasty!! And it’s so easy — you can add or reduce sugar to your liking! Continue reading 'Anyone for Sorbet?'»
Keep it all… online [updated]
I think that lots of people save almost everything they do on their computer — like pictures, documents, memos of ideas or designs, even something simple like web bookmarks. Also, most people back up their important data. Here’s something that might help you out…
If you have a netbook with a generous hard drive (lucky you!), and you can carry your data around anywhere, then you’re fine. But at home, I guess you prefer using your 24-inch desktop instead of the little netbook, so you probably draw a line about saving data between your desktop and your netbook. And that can sometimes be a cause of confusion — sometimes you might forget to move data to your netbook or a memory card when you go out. Even if you don’t own a netbook, I’m sure you know what I’m saying… Continue reading 'Keep it all… online [updated]'»
About visual search
Basically I’m not a big fan of reading. So I like pictures. I like to take photos and design my own pictures, but I also like to check other people’s pictures. For that reason, I like to use image search engines. So here are 2 image search engine I recommend you try. Click through to check them out — I recommend you try them both, especially if you’re into pictures, like me.
Have your own web scrapbook!
If you like using your computer (and I think you do), then why don’t you check out “Scrapplet” if you have a little spare time?
You can “scrapbook” your favorite web stuff in there. It’s fun, free, and pretty easy — it’s not pain in the neck at all to use.

Make Pizza!

Homemade pizza can be worth the effort...
If you have a breadmaker, then you should bake pizza at home for fun like we do sometimes!
Put 1 1/2 cups water, 3 tbsp oil, 1 tbs sugar, 1 tsp salt, 4 1/2 cup flour, 2 1/2 tsp yeast into the breadmaker, and set it off (but don’t set a bake cycle). When the dough is ready, divide the dough into 3~4 pieces and leave to stand for about 30 minutes to expand. You can then shape the dough (traditional flat discs or however you like) and put each base on a tray – don’t forget to use oven paper so it doesn’t stick. Make holes in each with a fork – so they don’t expand – and bake in a preheated oven at 200′c for 5 minutes, then cover with your favorite topping. Finally, bake the pizza in an oven at 230′c until light brown.
Update: If you don’t have a breadmaker, you can always knead by hand, just knead well, and wait until it doubles in size (you might need toactivate the yeast this way, too).
