2010 – time for a little more change!
Well, another year is over – and a new one just begun. Who needs to think of something new when ideas from other places already say what you want them to?
So was 2009 a good year? Depends, really. Politically, and internationally, perhaps not. But I’m not here to comment on any of that. There are other places, if that’s your thing (try here, if you like – free plug, Dom). Personally, it wasn’t bad – hey, my daughter was born, for one thing! Financially? Meh. Anyway, let’s take a look at things, and the year to come.
Games, movies, comics, music? I thought it was a pretty uneventful year, really. Sure, there were a lot of big game titles – Sims 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Halo 3: ODST, Fallout 3, Assassins Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Left 4 Dead 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, PixelJunk Shooter, Plants vs. Zombies, Resident Evil 5 – holy crap… It was a pretty good year after all for games… Hmmm… Movies? Who knows. I have no time for such things, dammit! Obviously there were far too many games to play! Those other things I mentioned? I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I got a new PC, and an iPhone. Baby born – mentioned that… I guess some other things happened. Windows 7 happened, on the PC front, as did MSE. Vidzone was a pretty nice addition to PSN. Jung left Good Game and made me all sad Panda-like.And I talked about a fair amount of crap. In fact, I just noticed I have a Miscellaneous AND a Rambling category. that’s just greedy.
However, you may be wondering what’s up with the title of this post. and you may have also noticed that commenting functionality seems to be missing from this site… and has for a long while…
Well, like the good little blogger I am, I didn’t notice until recently. Sure, I was aware that there weren’t many comments being left, and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of spam, but I kind of put it down to my not worrying about marketing (for want of a better term) of the blog, and my small, but fiercely quiet bunch of readers. You know what? You might not be so quiet, and I might be missing the voice of the people. I screwed up – I’m sorry. Turd be I. Fix things, I will.
Yet I look over the blog, and I’m a little more than just keen to fix the broken commenting. Yep, the design of the blog – which has always needed some work – needs work. So in the spirit of Bob the Builder – yes, I can! So things will be changed shortly. I have no desire to put in any silly flash in, nor do I desire to put up a shiny magazine-style blog… It just wouldn’t suit the Frog. I’ll keep it simple, but I’ll make it prettier, and hopefully add some more functionality – the current theme my design is based on is pretty old – WordPress has moved on, and so should I. I also have a couple of slightly neglected categories as well… and my pictures section is just shameful!
The real reason I will change the layout? I can’t – for the friggin’ life of me – figure out what is causing the commenting issue, or lack thereof functionality umbrella (that didn’t quite make sentence). So, with bowed head and shamefully reddened cheeks, I will make this site more ace, and slightly more tops.
Oh, and my fave game of 2009 was Uncharted 2 – what was yours? Leave your comments belo… Never mind. Think them hard in my direction.
