PopCap Games make life good
Everybody loves zombies. Even people that say they don’t like zombies secretly love zombies. And that’s what makes PopCap Games’ latest so super special (see video above for proof of awesome)…
PopCap Games makes games. This might be obvious to some, but I thought I’d clarify. They’ve made some pretty well-known titles, including Bejeweled, Zuma, the almighty Peggle, and now, with the release of Plants vs Zombies, have really made their mark on the video game world (if they hadn’t already). I thought PopCap was pretty cool prior to the release of PvZ, now I think they are the shizNIT.
Bejewled and Zuma were pretty popular on their release (and still are, to some degree, as they are quite addictive puzzlers), and have since been released on quite a few different systems. Sequels have been released. Other PopCap games — such as Feeding Frenzy — have also proven quite popular. But what is it about PopCap that makes them so good? Well, to put it simply – every one of their games that I have played have been ‘just one more go’ addictive as hell. And Peggle was the game that demonstrated this to the world.
Peggle (see video below) is a simple game – point, shoot, and pray. That’s it – there’s very little to it… until you start to work out how to score the big points, and you become addicted… I’ve spent many an hour playing Peggle… over and over again… and repeating the levels again and again once I had finished – which is really uncommon for me. To put it straight – Peggle is an awesomely addictive title – and one that I HIGHLY recommend. Until recently, it was one of my favourite games.
And I guess it still is, but I am so impressed by PvZ that Peggle is almost off the radar (that almost hurts to say, because I love my Pele, but damn it if it isn’t true). It’s really that good! Every day, I can’t wait to get home from work and kill some zombies with some butter and some peas (if you’ve played it, you’ll understand)! And I haven’t felt that way in a LONG time. I mean – I’ve finished the game and I’m playing it again (I NEVER do that)! Even the mini games are awesome!
I don’t know – this isn’t meant to be a review of PvZ, I just wanted to pop a post up about how impressed I was with PopCap Games. Kudos, guys. Their website has quite a few games available to play free on te web, or to download for a very reasonable price. So please – go get yourself a copy of Peggle and PvZ – you will NOT regret it. And don’t pirate – PopCap deserves the cash!
